Luke Littler and Luke Humphries lead World Series opener

The field is set for 2025 Bahrain Dart Masters which will take place this weekend on January 16-17, and eight PDC stars will face eight representatives from Asia. They are the leading ones Łukasz Małyr AND Luke Humphries.

Last year, Littler hit nine darts en route to the championship. His first outing in a breakthrough year that ended with victory in the PDC World Darts Championship.

He lifted the trophy on his World Series debut and will return a year later, as will Luke Humphries, who won the 2024 Darts World Cup, World Matchplay and Players Championship finals.

Stephen Bunting AND Chris Dobey who win Premier League awards will also get a chance to take a bow in the World Series. They are joined by Rob Cross, Gerwyn Price, Nathan Aspinall and Peter Wright.

The only player missing from the Premier League squad is Michael van Gerwen, who misses family responsibilities. Although this squad has also attracted criticism, which has also been a talking point for 2024, as this is the same group of players that will grace the Premier League squad every week.

This in itself led to fatigue on the part of the top players and the same games being played, so it is unclear whether the World Series will be at all different from Den Bosch after that as well.

The Asian representatives are led by the best players on the Asian Tour, including Lourence Ilagan and Ally Pally stars Alexis Toylo and Paolo Nebrida. And also Lok Yin Lee, who also made a splash in the UK. Xiaochen Zong and Nitin Kumar are also taking part in the match, along with Bahrain’s top players in Basem Mahmood, who has shown good form in the past, and Abdulla Saaed.
