It’s been a busy day at Celtic Park with one hero leaving and another fan favorite returning Scottish Premiership champions. Kyogo Furuhashi is gone celtic To join the French club Rennes with to whom Moving in the opposite direction. Kyogo has been a revelation since joining the Glasgow giants from Vissel Kobe for €5.4m in 2021 with the Japanese striker scoring 85 goals in 165 appearances.
But Celtic decided to cash in on the substantial gain by paying Rennes €10m for the 30-year-old after Kyogo expressed his desire to leave. The Parkhead faithful’s grief at losing one of their favorite players has been softened by Zota’s return. The Portuguese winger left for Al-Ittihad in July 2023 and Celtic ultimately earned €29.1m from his sale but they paid just €10m. League 1 The club brought him back to Parkhead.
Celtic hero Jota is delighted to be back in Glasgow
The 25-year-old penned a five-and-a-half-year contract and expressed his delight at returning to Glasgow. He said: “It’s very nostalgic for me because it’s such an amazing feeling and all the moments I’ve had in my two seasons here and I’m glad to be back. I’m really excited and I can’t wait to get started. Obviously the best thing about Glasgow apart from Celtic is the people and I think I need a place with soul, where I feel at home. It’s definitely something I’ve been looking for and I think there’s no better match than Celtic.
