The match that almost reached midnight on the Ally Pally stage and lasted until Christmas Eve. But Scott Williams finished the match and for the second time in a row a big-name player was eliminated on the pitch PDC World Darts Championships. The sixth seed is gone, and now the fifth seed Rob Krzyża.
It’s also payback for Cross beating him two years ago. The two defended last year’s semi-final in a grueling match, perhaps based on too much respect.
However, the Boston showman will return after Christmas and will face Ricardo Pietreczko in the third round.

Williams lamented his poor doubling throughout as he simply couldn’t get going and that continued in the first set. In the first set, he missed three times in doubles, and Cross came back for double 10. He took the initiative and led.
But Williams responded. In the decisive match, he scored 72 points for a 1-1 score. Despite the missed darts in doubles, there are plenty of them, 16 in total. However, despite both averaging just 86 points, they both really struggled and Williams prevailed, leading 2-1 in the set.
In the final set, Cross was unable to make a shot at 126, and Williams hit a double six to make it 2-2, with the Voltage deciding in the third set of four.
Williams started the deciding score with a 180 and then hit another one to finish with nine darts. But he was weak when it came to it. Cross set a 170 just in case, but he failed to conquer the second mountain.
But Williams foolishly scored two double 20s and sent two off the board and Cross had a chance to make a begging 70. But he was two short on a double eight. Williams’ error was not punished and the showman sealed the victory.
