Rob Krzyża was eliminated by Scott Williams in the second round of the World Darts Championship on Monday evening. Voltage therefore earned just £15,000 from his participation in the World Darts Championship.
However, his involvement at Alexandra Palace will also cost Cross some money as the former world champion has done something that will undoubtedly not pass muster with a disciplinary committee.
The Englishman lost the second set and showed his irritation by making an obscene gesture with his hands. It was unclear at the time who the gesture was intended for, but Cross provided clarification on Tuesday.
The 2018 world champion emphasized that this gesture was not directed towards his opponent.
“I’m very disappointed to lose to my great friend Scott Williams. I wish him good luck for the rest of the tournament.
“I gestured to my manager how annoyed I was with my performance. If I offended anyone, I apologize.”
