Gary Andersonexit from PDC World Darts Championships according to the big Scot’s manager, Timmy Gilmour MBE of Dunvegan Enterprises, it is believed that this is partly due to an injury sustained while felling trees.
Speaking after he suddenly lost Jeffrey de Graaf In an interview with Talksport, Gilmour said that his sudden departure from the tournament had a direct reason and that he had crossed the pain barrier. Although he would also want to make it up to his manager, who has to undergo heart surgery next month at the World Masters.
“It was a bad night at the office. That’s not an excuse because he should be able to win those games,” Gilmour said, according to the report Talk sports.
“He has had shoulder problems for the last week. He was cutting down trees by the lake.
“That’s what happens when you have another job and you have to keep everything constant.
“He admitted that his shoulder was bothering him and he was taking painkillers.
“That’s why his doubles success rate was only 15 percent. He failed to make it in the doubles.
“He seemed fine on the way there, but of course he wasn’t fine. Not only does a player of Gary’s caliber shoot 15 percent in doubles, but I knew something was bothering him.
Gary Anderson couldn’t reach doubles in his defeat to De Graaf.
Even though he may have lost, the injury doesn’t stop Gilmour from believing he can still compete with the best. He added: “Gary finished? What a fucker, he’s number 12 in the world!
“He was really looking forward to the World Cup. It’s kind of a disaster because he was looking forward to it and put some work into it.
“I got a text from him this morning saying, ‘I’ll make it up to you at the Masters.’
“I’m going for heart surgery in the next few weeks.
“I told him after last night that it’s no wonder I have heart problems. He replied and said he didn’t know I had a heart!
“That’s why I wasn’t in London for his match, but Stephanie was there to represent Dunvegan and look after him.”
