James Wade he never really had much of a love affair with PDC World Darts Championships and although he faced one of the toughest possible draws, he was again easily defeated at Alexandra Palace by Jermaine Watttimena winning just two games in the whitewash 3-0.
Wattimana, who really broke out at the European Championships, reaching the final, was electrifying throughout the year. Yesterday he overtook Stefan Bellmont and equalized the draw, which was a repeat of the draw in Dortmund and was won again by Wattimen. He said Wade had to beat him and he didn’t.

Wade’s third consecutive departure from the Last 64, in which Wattimen managed a 99.2 average and a 50% doubles percentage, caused him to start by concentrating on the part of the game Wade usually falls into – doubling.
Wade missed five doubles darts in the first set and Wattimana squandered the opportunity to make it 3-1. Wattimana still rose to the occasion and sensed an opportunity. In the second set, he quickly went 3-0 and doubled his lead with an average of 96.3.
The nail in Wade’s coffin would come early in the third set when Wattimana broke and then made an exceptional shot of 126 to get to the brink of the third round. Following the usual route of two triple 19s and a double six, this year it’s a completely different machine gun than ever before as the Dutchman has moved up the rankings this year.
Among the Edhouses and De Deckers of the darting world, he also produced exceptional darts. Wattimena again capitalized on missed darts in doubles, while Wade missed another chance to get back into the tie, with the Dutchman having a happy look on his face as he moved on.
He will be one of the first players to advance to the third round and will return after Christmas. He will face Peter Wright or Wesley Plaisier, which Luke Humphries could wait for.
