Alexandra Palace action returns on FRIDAY after a short break in the tungsten tussle for Christmas celebrations. On the final day of competition before the Christmas break, eight second round matches were played at Alexandra Palace, with a further three teams sent to north London.
Fifth seed Cross was the latest player to be beaten by his stablemate Williams in the evening’s final, and his defeat saw 14 seeds exit the tournament, a new record at this stage of the World Darts Championship.
After a three-day Christmas break, the third and fourth rounds of the Paddy Power World Darts Championship will take place from December 27-30, with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final taking place from January 1-3.
