Barcelona signed Olmo after their squad was hit with long-term injuries, allowing the club to allocate a portion of their salary to signing the player.
His four-month allowance expires at the end of December and Barcelona’s commercial court number 10 rejected the club’s request to temporarily register him.
Spanish media reported that Barcelona had lodged an appeal with a magistrate’s court which would be heard a day before the deadline.

Olmo, who helped Spain win the European Championship in the summer, has scored six goals in 15 appearances for Barcelona this season.
Barcelona are third in La Liga, three points behind leaders Atletico Madrid.
