Peter Wright will fear the worst when he came on stage sick, covering his face with a towel, coughing and not doing his signature dance. But what’s more strange is that after the fall, it was one of his best performances in a long time Jermaine Watttimena in 2025 PDC World Darts Championships.
A tournament that, realistically, is crucial to his shootout future, he first gave an emotional farewell to Wesley Plaisier and then said he would be the one fighting Barney in the last 16. Barney then lost, but it could still be Luke Humphries who would face Nick Kenny next.
However, against a highly touted player, Jermaine Wattimena, who was having the year of his life, was comfortable at times, making it 4-2 in sets, and now whether or not he is dealing with an illness.

Despite all the previous talk of a chest infection, Wright got to work, even though he continued to show signs during breaks that he wasn’t 100 percent. He sealed the opener 3-1 with an average of 98.8, three 180s and 75% in doubles.
But part of the ease of the show was due to Wattimana’s poor doubling. He shot 1/12, trailing 2-0, and Wright took the second set 3-0 and took a two-set lead.
Although Wattimana tried to maintain the level and not let Wright escape from the competition. In the decisive part of the third set, he scored an exceptional 144, reducing the deficit by half.
But Wright closed the door again. He made an 87 on the bullpen to close the fourth set unanswered and restore his two-set lead with seven 180s.
Wattimana quickly responded with an 81 attack and ended the fifth set unanswered. However, in the next set, Wright took a 2-0 lead, adding 110 points. He then finished the game with a 68 check for double four and won 4-2.
