The first event of the PGA Tour season will feature 60 players at the Plantation Course in Kapalua.
On Friday, The Tour released the first full field for The Sentry, which will be held Jan. 2-5 in Maui, Hawaii. The Golf Channel broadcast will begin on Thursday at 6 p.m. EST.
This is the third year in a row that the event will be organized on an enlarged field. Sentry has long been a winners-only tournament, but is now open to qualifiers in the top 50 of the previous season’s FedExCup points list.
According to information from the Tour, this year’s Sentry team includes 31 2024 PGA Tour winners and 29 FEC-ranked players. This is the first of eight flagship events of the season, with a prize of $20,000,000 and the winner will receive $3,600,000.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will not be present as he is he suffered an injury to his right hand on Christmas Day and had to undergo surgery. He will return to The American Express Jan. 16-19, according to his agent Blake Smith.
