I’d never want any hand outs and I’d never ask for one

After a break of over a year and a half Adrian Lewis will return to the darting scene as part of the MODUS Super Series in 2025. Recently though Barry Hearn he told “Jackpot” publicly that if he ever wanted his PDC back, he would not receive any special treatment.

Some argued that Lewis deserved to receive a wild card or legendary Tour Card, similar to the one awarded to seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry by Hearn’s Matchroom Sports World Snooker Tour. We would welcome him back with open arms.”

After Hearn’s comments surfaced on social media, Lewis himself felt the need to respond. The two-time world champion retweeted a story from TalkSport in the wake of Hearn’s comments, claiming special treatment or handouts were not something he would want even if it were offered to him.

“I would never want any donations and have never asked for them,” Lewis writes in his book official X account (Twitter).. “I took a 21-month break from PDC competitions for personal reasons and that’s why I’m not playing at this year’s World Championships. I hope everyone enjoys the tournament and has a nice holiday season.”

As mentioned, Lewis will soon end his sabbatical and return to the darts track in 2025 in the MODUS Super Series. “I am delighted to be able to return to the sport I love and to have the support of MODUS Sports Management,” Lewis previously said of his plans for the coming year. “I feel refreshed and energized and can’t wait to see what the future holds for me. I won’t rush back Q School yet, but I don’t rule it out in the future. Firstly, in 2025 I will want to play in the MODUS Super Series to return to professional life.”
