One of the most naturally gifted darters of all time, Adrian Lewis he was absent for almost two years from the PDC Pro Tour, prioritizing time at home to deal with issues in his personal life. However, in 2025, ‘Jackpot’ is set to take initial steps towards a return to the PDC elite with an appearance in the MODUS Super Series.
Despite everything Lewis has achieved over the years, including winning the title PDC World Darts Championships the European Championship in 2011 and 2012, as well as the European Championship in 2013, the UK Open in 2014 and four World Darts titles for England in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016, the 39-year-old will not be with due to special treatment from the PDC, he insists Barry Hearn.
Asked by SunSports if Lewis could potentially receive some special dispensation, Hearn was firm in his response. “Absolutely none. It can’t be,” Hearn, 76, replied, explaining that past glories would not guarantee Lewis a place in the future. “It’s not about what you did – it’s about what you can do.”

The last time ‘Jackpot’ took part in a major PDC event was the UK Open in March 2023. While he was reluctant to offer any wild cards or a Legendary Tour Card, similar to the one awarded to seven players by Hearn’s Matchroom Sports World Snooker Tour Hearn, long-time world champion Stephen Hendry, insists he would welcome Lewis’ return to the PDC if he can get through through traditional means.
“Does he have to go through Q School? Yes. We would welcome him back with open arms,” Hearn explains in conclusion. “He’s a great boy and a great player. He had his own personal problems that he had to come to terms with. But these are not our problems. These are his problems and it is up to him to solve them.”
