On Sunday evening, final day 2024 WDF World Championships took place in Lake. The world champion titles were fought for in the men’s and women’s tournament, as well as in the junior category. In an exciting final, 15-year-old Archie Self defeated his compatriot Jenson Walker 3:2.
Self and Walker gave the crowd a high-quality match. Ultimately, it was Self who defeated his three-year-older compatriot, securing a 3-2 victory with his sixth dart, achieving an average of 81.34. “I can’t believe it. This is a dream come true,” he thought in his own words post-match interview. “I never thought I would win this tournament because my form wasn’t good at the moment, but then it just showed up.”
“My expectation was to win the first match,” Self continues, explaining his lack of expectations before the tournament. “So when I did it, I just wanted to get to the finals, which I did. Then I wanted to win the final, which I did!”
“We all know how good Jenson is. He’s been on Modus, he’s played at the UK Open, he’s a classy player, and just to beat him and win the title is another unbelievable achievement,” adds Self.

It’s just brilliant!”
