Archie Self was the winner of the boys tournament at the stadium WDF World Championships in Frimley Green. In the All-England match, he defeated compatriot Jenson Walker 3-2 in sets.
As a result, Self is the first English junior world champion at the WDF World Championships. The two previous editions were won by Dutch talents. In 2022, Bradly Roes won the title, and in 2023, the tournament was won by Bradley van der Velden.
The first set went quite convincingly for Walker, who threw a 15-darter and a 17-darter to win the set 3-1. A 17-darter also gave him the lead in the second set, but Self won three straight games to take the set.
After two games of the third set, the score was 1-1. Walker then missed a number of doubles in the third and fourth games, while Self punished those misses by rolling 108 and 60. As a result, the set ended with a score of 3-1 for Self.
The first four games of the fourth set were back-and-forth, leading to Self being targeted. Walker, however, was allowed to start the fifth stage and forced a final set with a perfect 131 points.
Self opened the fifth set by holding his own leg for seventeen darts. Self then scored 103 at the break. Walker then missed two chances to stay in the match before Self won the world title with an 18-darter.
