Viktor Hovland’s status for The Sentry still uncertain following toe fracture

Viktor Hovland’s status for the PGA Tour season starting this week in Kapalua is uncertain due to a broken toe.

Hovland suffered an injury to the little toe of his right foot last week, with Eurosport reporting that Hovland had an “unpleasant encounter with the edge of the bed” during training. Hovland had on Friday, he posted an X-ray on Twitter showing his broken toe along with the captain, “Bed frame 1-0 for me.”

Hovland’s injury usually takes four to six weeks to heal, although the world number eight told Eurosport he is yet to withdraw from The Sentry, which starts on Thursday.

“He hopes the duct tape and painkillers will be enough to get him through the week without any major problems,” the outlet reported.
