Chris Dobey is in the quarterfinals PDC World Darts Championships where he will face Gerwyn Price, looking to finally get over the last eight hump.
He defeated Kevin Doets 4-3 on his return and then praised Peter Wright, saying he should be written off at his peril, even though he had tried to play mind games in the past.

“I’m delighted to be here. I felt like I gifted a few of them sets, but I focused when I needed it and I always said I was quite stubborn and like to stay on double 16. Today was the first time I thought if I don’t change I’ll leave and it worked, it paid off double 10,” Dobey said.
“I gave him the fourth and fifth goals. I should have led 3-1 and won 4-1. Another day I win 4-1, but like I said, a good player can decide the match.”
He looked ahead to the match against Gerwyn Price and what he had to do to win against Iceman.
“He’s going to give it his all and I don’t mind at all. He probably did what I did in the last few games, wasted chances and obviously survived the darts games against Joe (Cullen). It will happen. It will be another battle, that’s for sure.”
“I just have to start hitting doubles when I need to. My results will always be good. I’m probably up there with the best in terms of scoring. I need to get on top from the start and start hitting doubles.”
“The first quarter-final was a total blow from MVG, but I know where I went wrong last year, so I just have to go out there and show that I can overcome the obstacle and get the job done.”
Although he also talked about Wright and his victory over Luke Humphries and how he felt he was never done.
“Look what Peter won in this game, you can never underestimate him. It was a great match. Luke played fantastic. He can’t be unhappy about this because he played well and Peter played brilliantly and he still managed to change his darts which is stupid. It’s all Peter’s issue, but it can never be ruled out. Maybe I’ll meet him in the final.
“There are some players who might say he’s done, but he’s not done yet. He’s still a great player, but you have to respect that. He has tried some mind games in the past, but you have to take it with a pinch of salt and deal with it.”
