Snooker player Shaun Murphy misses board and tyre after nine-dart claim rubbished by Van Gerwen

Michael van Gerwen he was proven right in trying to disprove Shaun Murphy’s claims that he hit nine darts by asking him to throw darts, with the veracity of the snooker star’s claims certainly being questioned.

Van Gerwen and Humphries took part in the Paddy Power Challenge, with only Murphy able to shoot 147 in the battle for the easiest to hit, a nine-shot finish and a hole-in-one.

After exchanging taunts throughout their time in the same room, Van Gerwen made Murphy swallow his words as he threw at the board, completely missing him.

He then hilariously joked, “Was it 301 or 101” about the nine-dart finish, because even though he hit one 20 in his second attempt, he certainly hadn’t proven he could do it. There was a story that Murphy hit Phil Taylor with one dart at a local club. However, it appears that Van Gerwen had every right to dispute these claims.
