Łukasz Małyr has been pushed hard by artists like Ryan Meikle, Ian White and more recently Ryan Joyce in the last 16 in 2025 PDC World Darts Championships. Despite these challenges, “The Nuke” has overcome every obstacle and now faces them head on Nathan Aspinall in the quarter-finals at Alexandra Palace on New Year’s Eve.
Part of JohnThe two-time winner of the PDC World Darts Championships (in 2003 and 2008), as well as a one-time winner of the BDO World Championships in Lakeside, was impressed with how Littler had dealt with the challenges presented at the tournament so far. “He was serious at the right moments.” Sky Sports explains part. “In that last 9-dart trial (against Joyce ed.) he showed no emotion, didn’t play in front of the crowd, was focused and won the 12-dart leg.”

“He really has the full package of skill and composure,” continues the Canadian darting icon. Yet Part, however, comes with a caveat in its praise for the 17-year-old sensation. “It’s not insurmountable. I assure you it is not insurmountable. I’m not saying he will lose, but the right performance can beat anyone. It’s all about timing in darts, as we keep saying.”
“Luke, you can’t let your guard down for a second! Because people will take advantage of it,” Part adds in conclusion, mentioning how these early tests could actually benefit Littler in the long run. “He was tested throughout the year in various events and won those and came close in others. But now, at this stage, where it all started for him last year, he told himself it was a completely different matter. At Ally Pally, at the World Cup, it’s great that he had a match like that (compared to Joyce ed.) and came out of it. If he was going to trip or fall, it would have happened, but he played one of his best sets in the decider’s match, so that’s really good for him.”
