I’m done with that fist-bumping at some point

Łukasz Małyr managed to qualify for the semi-finals in 2025 PDC World Darts Championships on Wednesday evening. He defeated his compatriot in a one-sided match Nathan Aspinall 5-2. During the match, the relationship between the two good friends was very friendly and they regularly fist-bumped each other throughout.

One of the remaining quarter-final matches in between Chris Dobey AND Gerwyn’s price he was more fiery. This match was won 5-3 by Dobey, but the fire was usually fueled by Price after the Welshman managed to get back to 4-3 after losing 4-2. “It’s a kind of character,” he says Vincent Van der Voort on the Darts Draait Door podcast Prices. “That loud scream in between, then laughter, then dancing. This is someone for whom you come to such an event anyway. Is there always something. You can cheer for him, boo him; he’s always good.”

In the seventh set, Dobey missed five match darts to decide the match before Price was able to make it exciting. “Iceman” then tried to get into Dobey’s head, but was unsuccessful. “This is actually how it should be,” Van der Voort felt. “At least he’s someone who wants to compete. After all, you shouldn’t let him lead you to slaughter. I prefer that to Littler versus Aspinall, running around punching each other after every set.”

This sportsmanship did not go down well with the Dutch darts player, who has competed in the PDC World Darts Championship 16 times in the past. “At some point I stop punching. After that, you’re fine with each other, but at this point, just try to fight each other a little bit.”

Although this is easier said than done when players are fighting Littler. “I think Littler is in a phase now where a lot of players were already afraid of him,” Van der Voort continued. “That they feel like they can’t miss anything and they have to play fantastic. Regardless of what the real greats like Michael van Gerwen and Phil Taylor had. Then you have to get really pumped up, and if it doesn’t work, you think: there’s no way to win from this.”
