Łukasz Małyr explained why he imitated Chelsea legend Didier Drogba during the match against his compatriot Nathan Aspinall in 2025 PDC World Darts Championships in London on Wednesday evening.
Littler managed to beat Aspinall 5-2 on New Year’s Day and reach the last four of the World Darts Championship. It was a good performance by “The Nuke”, who averaged 101.54 and managed to score as many as fifteen points out of 180 points. By reaching the semi-finals, Littler had already secured £100,000 in prize money.

After winning one of the sets against Aspinall, Littler allowed himself a special celebration, and fans quickly noticed it. The inspiration was Chelsea legend Didier Drogba. The Ivorian scored 164 goals during his nine years at Chelsea, where he became a club legend, winning four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three Carabao Cups and the Champions League. He became famous for his characteristic celebration, during which the striker quickly stretched out his arms and ran to the corner flag.
Littler is a Manchester United fan and was just five years old when Drogba helped Chelsea win the Champions League in 2012. Littler, however, is known as a gaming fanatic and a friend persuaded him to organize a celebration for Drogba. “My friend had been telling me to do it for months, but he was in the crowd tonight and as I was walking away I looked at him and he was celebrating, so I did it. It comes from FIFA,” Littler explained.
The 17-year-old returns to action tonight at Ally Pally. Littler will face Stephen Bunting in the semi-finals, while either Chris Dobey or Michael van Gerwen will be waiting in the final of the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship.
