Michael van Gerwen sent a statement to Luke Littler or Stephen Bunting, who will play in the second semi-final of the 2025 European Championship. PDC World Darts Championships on Thursday evening.

The three-time world champion started the set 3-1 with two 180s and an average of 103 before taking off early. But he didn’t have to do that in the second set, as Dobey missed three darts in doubles in the deciding match, and MVG shot a 74 to double his lead. This was already trouble for Dobey.
Dobey finally got on the board and made another no-answer decision, halving the deficit for 170 points. He made a clean shot and looked like he was heading towards the advantage.
But MVG is back. He regained the advantage to take the next three games to the fourth set and regained a two-legged cushion. He scored four 180s and 53% in doubles.
Dobey continued to look better and better, but he got out of the way at key moments. Van Gerwen took a 3-1 lead at 4-1, two seconds behind victory. Dobey didn’t get closer to 146, and MVG hit a double 10 and left the stage as the happier of the two.
That feeling continued during a brutal moment for Dobey. He missed a double five after an early break in the sixth set, and Van Gerwen was punished severely for 158 points. He then sealed the set at the crucial moment, pinning a 13-darter to continue the procession.
He went one away in the next set, shooting an 82 to break, and Dobey was only able to make 158, but he didn’t have the opportunity to hit like MVG or even get a shot to keep the shot as Van Gerwen shot for the win.
He hit 180 to leave 41, but missed two darts to seal the result, but he came back anyway and Dobey didn’t get even close to 164.
