When it comes to forged irons, there are few brands that do better than Mizuno. The latest JPX 925 forged irons look like they have all the precision and benefits of a forged head, but with the added performance and forgiveness offered by JPX series.

This year, Mizuno treats us to both the JPX 925 and JPX 925 Black forged irons, following in the footsteps of Mizuno Pro 225 Black irons.

One of the key technology elements in the new line of irons is the Cortech design with Contour ellipse. It is a multi-thickness face profile that optimizes ball speed across the entire surface. The result is better effectiveness and forgiveness of shots that are not hit from the center of the face.

The irons are manufactured using a grain flow forging process at their facility in Japan, and the set’s long irons are made from Chromoly 4120 material, which allows for high ball speeds and easier adjustments.
On the other hand, the shorter irons (8-GW) are forged from soft 1025E Pure Select carbon steel, offering the improved control, precision and softness that Mizuno irons are known for.
The irons also feature Mizuno’s Triple Cut Sole design, which is designed to improve turf interaction on a variety of surfaces and types of conditions.

The leading edge is sloping to provide better entry into the turf, while the heavily cut trailing edge facilitates a smooth exit from the grass and provides better contact. The design combines with optimized balance for better control and confidence regardless of playing conditions.
Two different finishes are available in the new JPX 925 line. Traditional Satin Chrome offers a timeless, classic look, while Forged Black LE is a contemporary option with reduced glare.
Available from February 3, the Mizuno JPX 925 forged irons will retail for £200 for the chrome finish iron and £215 for the black finish.

They are offered in 5-PW and feature NS Pro Modus Tour and MMT 85 shafts in the Chrome model and Dynamic Gold Mid 115 Tour Black in the black irons.
