Tiger Woods wasn’t winless in 2024 – at least he didn’t go off course.
According to a report from Sports Business Journal’s Josh CarpenterThe 49-year-old Woods, unsurprisingly, finished first in the final year of the PGA Tour’s Player Impact Program, which aimed to reward players who had generated the most interest on the PGA Tour.
Woods played in just five events during the 2024 season, with his only success coming at the 2024 Masters, where he finished 60th with a score of 16 over par. In December, the 15-time heavyweight champion nearly won the PNC Championship with his son Charlie. In 2024, Woods also launched his Sun Day Red clothing brand.
Woods took home a $10 million prize for finishing first in the PIP rankings.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who won seven Tour events, an Olympic gold medal and the 2024 Hero World Challenge, finished second and won $8 million. Scheffler began the season by winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Players Championship and Masters. He previously appeared primed to win his second major of the season at the 2024 PGA Championship arrested before Friday’s round. Scheffler was able to play a second round and shot a 5-under-par 66 to stay in the hunt, but a sloppy Saturday ended his chances of winning the Wanamaker Trophy.
Scheffler capped off his phenomenal season with a win at the Tour Championship in August. In December, Scheffler won PGA Tour Player of the Year for the third straight season. He joined Woods as the only golfers to win the Jack Nicklaus Award in three straight seasons.
Rory McIlroy, who won the 2023 PIP top prize of $15 million, finished third and won $4.5 million.
Here are the top ten of the final PIP ranking:
