How to watch TGL’s debut match on Tuesday: TV, start time, teams

The DATEnew indoor golf league founded by Tiger Woods AND Rory McIlroybegins with its debut match on Tuesday evening, January 7. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the first TGL game, including the full TGL TV coverage, streaming info, teams and more.

Announcement of the first TGL match

After years of planning, the new TGL league will finally start on Tuesday evening at SoFi Center at Palm Beach Gardens, a facility specifically designed for TGL.

Although there are a total of six teams in the league, only two teams will face each other in the inaugural match: New York Golf Club and Bay Golf Club.

However, only three of each team’s four players will compete on Tuesday. Bay Golf Club captain Tiger Woods will be on the bench for the first match, while his BGC teammates Wyndham Clark, Shane Lowry and Ludvig Aberg will represent the team at the SoFi center. Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele and Matt Fitzpatrick will represent the New York Golf Club.

In this format, teams will compete on a nine-hole simulation course in trios games and then in singles games on one hole. Most shots will be taken using the simulator, but short match shots will be recorded live in the stadium.

ESPN will provide exclusive telecast of the inaugural TGL game, which begins Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET ESPN+ there will also be exclusive online streaming.
