Former England scrum-half Danny Care has revealed he will end his 20th season at Harlequins by remaining at the club for another year.
Care, 38, who joined Gallagher Premiership club from Leeds in 2006, retired from international rugby in March last year but said he was not yet ready to hang up his boots.
He told the BBC: “I’ll be at Harlequins next season, I’m not leaving – I love it too much, I can’t give it up yet.
“Hopefully some Quins fans will be happy with that.”
Care made a record 386th appearance for Harlequins in the recent 34-34 draw with Leicester at the Allianz Stadium.
“This match probably reminded me again how happy I am to still be playing the game we love and still playing for the club I love,” he added. “I’m not going to give it up as long as I enjoy it.”
Care won two league titles with the London club – in 2012 and 2021 – and the European Challenge Cup in 2011.
He became the sixth player to make 100 appearances for England during last year’s Six Nations victory against Ireland, and also made his 101st and final appearance for England in the 33-31 loss to France.
