A team statement read: “We appreciate Antonio’s leadership, first as interim head coach and last season as head coach.

“Antonio grew up a Raiders fan and his Silver and Black roots run deep. We are grateful for his ability to reignite what it means to be a Raider throughout the organization.

“We wish Antonio and his family all the best for the future.”

Pierce posted a 5-4 record in 2023 after taking over midseason.

The Raiders suffered numerous injuries in 2024, including to defensive linemen Maxx Crosby and Christian Wilkins, and also dealt with drama surrounding the Davante Adams trade to the New York Jets.

There are rumors that Mike Vrabel may replace Pierce since he and Brady were teammates with the New England Patriots.
