Manchester United are set to sign England youth international Kayla Rendell from Southampton’s Women’s Championship side.
Goalkeeper Rendell (23) comes from Southampton’s academy and is one of several young players who have come through the club to join the WSL.
United have been looking for a goalkeeper since Englishwoman Mary Earps left for Paris St-Germain last summer, and Rendell will join current number one Phallon Tullis-Joyce and 20-year-old Safia Middleton-Patel.
Rendell, who currently represents England Under-23s, is expected to become United’s first signing in the January transfer window.
