It’s no secret that Marcus Rashford has appeared to be left out of Ruben Amorim’s squad in recent weeks.
Reports emerged a few weeks ago that United had approved the sale of the 27-year-old striker, but the situation has hardly improved.
The England international, once the crown jewel of Old Trafford, has not been included in the Portuguese manager’s squad for four games:
- Manchester City (guest) 15/12
- Tottenham Hotspur (away) 19/12
- Bournemouth (H) 22/12
- Wolves (away) 26/12
Missed the fifth game (away against Liverpool) due to illness.
Rashford scored 7 goals and provided 3 assists in 24 appearances (all competitions) in the 2024/25 season.
Marcus Rashford likely to move to Bundesliga

Marcus Rashford has a way out if he wants to.
Christian Falk has now reported that Borussia Dortmund are “considering” a move for the embattled Manchester United striker. However, this must The Bundesliga club previously parted ways with Donyel Mullen.
“It is true that Dortmund are considering a move for Marcus Rashford. The transfer has been discussed within the club, but it is not a hot topic at the moment. The Manchester United striker is on the shortlist along with several other candidates.” The Bild journalist told CaughtOffside in his exclusive Fact File column.
“However, any move would have to begin with the sale of Donyell Malen. Rashford’s wages remain a hurdle for Dortmund – at Manchester United he earned over €20m.
“It is worth noting that the Saudi Arabian club is prepared to almost double this figure and offer 40 million euros in wages. In order for this potential transfer to work, as in the case of Sancho, the Red Devils must be ready Pays most of the salary.”
Of course, if the dubious speculation about Arsenal’s interest in the footballer is indeed financial, Dortmund may be forced to move faster.
At his absolute best (and without any intra-club drama), there’s no doubt that Marcus Rashford is one of Europe’s premier attacking talents.
Perhaps the chance to rediscover himself on the continent, on the same ground that England internationals Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham have trodden, could prove ideal.
Regardless, being freed from the endless noise surrounding his future and status at United is certainly a welcome prospect.
