156 amateurs work in this field. During the first three rounds, each PGA Tour pairing will feature two amateurs with players playing each day alongside different professionals. Amateurs will compete on three routes, and the scoring will depend on individual handicaps. The final round is intended only for professionals.

The purse is $8.5 million, with the winner earning $1.53 million and 500 FedExCup points.
Who won American Express 2024?
Nick Dunlap, then a 20-year-old sophomore at Alabama, showed a good result on the 72nd hole at the Pete Dye Stadium Course and overtook Christiaan Bezuidenhout.
Dunlap, who shot 60 in the third round for a score of 29 under, was crowned champion first amateur to win the PGA Tour since Phil Mickelson in 1991. Dunlap soon turned professional and also won the Barracuda Championship in July.
