Tiger Woods to Make TGL Debut This Week

Guest article by student sports journalist Fin Tait.

Second ever DATE The meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 14, where Los Angeles Golf Club confrontation with Jupiter Links Golf Club. Justyna Róża, Collin Morikawa AND Sahith Theegal will represent Los Angeles and Tiger Woods, Kevin Kisner AND Max Homa will play for Jupiter Links.

Because the year 2025 is here Ryder Cup year, as Rose and Woods battle it out, there’s a subtle scent of Ryder Cup fever in the air. Woods and Rose have faced each other on opposing teams in the Ryder Cup, but have never faced each other in singles play.

Jupiter Links will start with the Hammer (see explanation) in this game, giving them first control over when to opt for an extra point. The Hammer only came into play twice in last week’s match between TBGC and NYGC, so let’s see if these two teams have different strategies.

Tiger was in the broadcast booth for the season-opening event last week. It will be interesting to see if he can bring some entertaining moments and commentary from the action this time around.

Tiger Woods

A hole to look at

The hole to watch is #8, par 4, Flex. Due to the multiple routes leading to the pin, around and over the giant lava lake, players will need to be extra careful on this route!

A player to watch

The player you can’t miss this week is Collin Morikawa. Fresh off a second-place finish at The Sentry with an astounding 31-under-par score. He narrowly missed out on breaking the record of Hideki Matsuyama, who finished the competition with an impressive score of 35 below par. Morikawa is playing really great golf right now and hopefully he will continue to do so.

How to watch

TGL week two will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Golf at 2am (Wednesday 15), with coverage available on-demand with replays throughout the day.

It’s going to be tight this week, two great teams full of skill and talent. Who do you think will win and start climbing the TGL table?
