The to draw has been confirmed before Bahrain Dart Masters which is scheduled to take place on January 16-17 and will see Łukasz Małyr as the defending champion. It opens the new season of the World Series of Darts.
Littler jumped into the title race 12 months ago, winning nine darts on his World Series of Darts debut. He will face Filipino star Lourence Ilagan, and “The Gunner” wants to shock on the big stage.
Luke Humphries is the second major name in action, with the world number one facing Abdulla Saeed. Peter Wright returns to the World Series despite leaving the Premier League and faces Alexis Toylo after the World Series resurgence at times, but the jury disagreed with his inclusion. Toylo, in turn, stood out at the World Championships.
Just like Lok Yin Lee and Paolo Nebrida, who they will face Gerwyn’s price AND Rob Krzyża appropriately. Chris Dobey bows out completely in the World Series and faces home hope and their best player, Basem Mahmood. How Nathan Aspinall completes the lineup opposite Xiaochen Zong while Stephen Bunting will face Nitin Kumar.
As always, the tournament will be held in a first round format before the quarterfinals, semifinals and final on Friday. In the draw bracket, a final is possible between Humphries and Littler, who are once again on a collision course.
Michael van Gerwen is on a previously planned family holiday so he is away and is currently in Thailand but will play against Den Bosch next weekend.
