Ahead of the event, which begins this afternoon, Wright expressed his desire to make an impression World series Darts 2025 opener.

Wright heads to Bahrain with momentum that has also started to gain momentum. After a terrible year by his own standards in 2024, the Scot showed signs of life at the 2025 fair. PDC World Darts Championshipsending Luke Humphries’ reign to the quarter-finals before losing 5-2 in the last eight to Stephen Bunting, who is also heading to Bahrain for the start of the 2025 season World Darts Series.

“It was nice to show the world that I can still play darts.” reflects Wright in quotes for PDC ahead of the Bahrain Darts Masters in 2025. “I believe I can still achieve a lot this year and will have time to rest and freshen up before the on-court tournaments and the European tour outside the Premier League.”

In fact, Wright sees a great role model for himself in former world champion Rob Cross, who himself withdrew from selection for the Premier League Darts before rebuilding and regaining his place among the darts elite over the past two years. “I’ll take an example from Rob Cross’s book. Wright will face a potentially tough PDC Asian Tour Order of Merit winner on Thursday afternoon in the opening round of the Bahrain Darts Masters 2025 Alexis Toylo in the penultimate match of the session.
