Lee McGregor: Scot seeks world title in 2025 & Nathaniel Collins bout

McGregor failed to capture the IBO super bantamweight world title when he lost to Eric Robles in July 2023 at Meadowbank.

It took a period of rebuilding before he was given a chance at his career in Saudi Arabia last month.

“My career has been full of ups and downs, just look at 2024, which was a rebuilding year for me after a difficult 2023,” he explained.

“So I wanted to rebuild the team in 2024 and I think May 18 was the first Fury-Usyk fight. I fought at the Hilton the same night.

“I left the ring, ran upstairs to my hotel room, took a quick shower, went downstairs and watched the big fight on the big screen at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.

“Fast forward to December 21 of the same year, I was in the rematch and it’s just unbelievable, surreal. I grabbed the opportunity with both hands. I won and I won well. I feel like I boxed well and looked good doing it and hopefully I can get back there.”
