Paolo Nebrida was a great Asian success for the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship, reaching the last 32. The Filipino impressed once again Bahrain Dart Masters too, stunning Rob Krzyża in the first round to get to the quarterfinals.
Truth be told, the match was nothing to write home about as both players struggled to find doubles. However, when Cross hit just 3 of 22 shots in the outside ring, Nebrida was punished and won 6-3. In the process, Nebrida also made history as the first Filipino star to win against one of the PDC’s elite World series Darts stage.

“I am proud of the victory and I know there is even more ahead of me.” – said an delighted Nebrida later, in quotes collected by PDC from the post-match interview. “I felt good, but Rob is a tough competitor. 116 was important and when I hit the first shuttle, I had a chance.”
Nebrida may need to find an additional level to touch. This Friday, the Filipino will face the two-time world champion in the last eight Peter Wrightwho himself took on the challenge of Nebrida’s compatriot Alexis Toylo in the first round of the Bahrain Darts Masters 2025.
