Hoffenheim have had a difficult 2024/25 season so far, sitting in a precarious 16th place in the Bundesliga, just three points above the relegation zone.
This is a significant drop for a club that finished seventh last season and had aspirations to qualify for European competition this season. It’s safe to say things didn’t go according to plan.
Die Kraichgauer lost three Bundesliga matches in a row, the last of which was a 5-0 beating at the hands of Harry Kane Bayern Munich. The result sparked an extraordinary post-match tirade from long-time striker Andrej Kramarić.
“This is a picture of the whole season.”
Clearly angered by his team’s plight, the Croatian hinted at bigger issues than poor form and suggested he would be even more transparent if relegation became a real possibility.
“I don’t even want to talk about the match because it was clear to me that something like this would happen,” he said Archie Rhind-Tutt of ESPN. “This is a picture of the whole season, it’s one big shitty season, I want to be honest.

“I am still soft because if I want to tell the truth and certain things that I think about the club and the situation, I will receive the biggest penalty in the history of the Bundesliga.
“We are investing so much money for free and there is no point in talking about today’s match. I just want to talk about the current situation because the risk of us being relegated with good players is dangerous.
“We would like to thank the fans who supported us from the beginning of the season. They understand everything that is happening and that we are going through a really difficult phase.
“It’s the first time in my life, in my football career, that I feel like this because I feel shitty at the club. If no one is going to change it, I will try to change it. When I start talking, everyone will listen.
“You feel my voice. People from Zuzenhausen, Sinsheim and all over Germany who support Hoffenheim… I think the fans understand what’s happening, it’s not an unlucky moment.
Hoffenheim appointed Austrian Christian Ilzer as their new manager in November, but he has been unable to turn the situation around, winning only one of 10 matches so far. If poor results continue, keep a close eye on Kramaric’s post-match interviews.
