Arsenal reportedly have three forwards on their shortlist of potential signings in January, with long-term target Benjamin Cesc one of their ‘options’.
shooter Due to their poor performance in front of goal this season, they are sorely lacking in top strikers.
Bukayo Saka has been in excellent form this season, but a hamstring injury kept him out until March.
This injury blow proves they are overly reliant on England internationals and set-pieces Mikel ArtetaThe team’s other attackers didn’t step up as well as the head coach would have liked.
In a further blow, Gabriel Jesus has been ruled out for the rest of the season. This leaves Arteta with Kai Havertz as his only forward option.
Arteta has since admitted he may be in the market for a new striker this month after failing to bring one in during the summer.

Arsenal tried to sign RB Leipzig standout Benjamin Cesc in the summer until he decided to stay in the Bundesliga for one more season.
Cesco has emerged as one of the best young forwards in Europe, according to reports Arteta is ready to “put forward a transfer plan” to sign him (or another striker) this month.
There are also reports that they have “increased” their “offer” for Sesko. But journalist Ben Jacobs claims the deal is more likely to be completed in the summer.
Jacobs also revealed that Brighton’s Evan Ferguson and Botafogo’s Igor Jesus are also potential “options”.

It is worth noting that if they want to sign Ferguson, they must sacrifice or buy the loan player Neto. Jacobs said: “Arsenal are reviewing their forward options for January.
“There is a lot of interest in Benjamin Sesco, but probably a summer legend.
“Evan Ferguson would be interested if Brighton sanctioned an exit, but Arsenal would have to buy or send back Neto. Raheem Sterling’s loan has no January release clause. Botafogo’s Gol Jesus is also on Arsenal’s radar.”
As for Sterling, Club legend Ian Wright explains why he needs to leave Arsenal.
“Raheem is going through a tough time. I think after that little cameo against Manchester United that might turn around and he looks sharp. That’s who we want to see,” Wright explain.
“To be fair, it wasn’t enough. It looked like you would have thought we weren’t going to sign him long-term.
“So what does he have to lose but get on it and blow it up? I’d love to see him go to that place.
“It will show the fans that he’s working hard and that’s what they want to see. When he comes in, I think it’s a perfect move.”
