Wolverhampton Wanderers are unwilling to sell Mathews Cunha this winter window despite heavy interest from clubs, according to reports.

The Midlands side are unfazed by the myriad of interest in the Brazilian and are not prepared to listen to offers for their star player.

According to that Sky Sports reporter Daniyal Khan who writes in XPreviously known as Twitter: “Despite interest from Nottingham Forest and Arsenal – I understand Matthews Cunha is not for sale and is not expected to leave Wolves in January. The new deal was about rewarding his recent form – there will be no impact on his immediate future and Wolves are relaxed about the situation.”

“What is he doing?!” Which former Liverpool star said he was ready to “kill” Luis Suarez after training ground incident?

The 25-year-old Brazilian has been in great form since joining Wolves. He scored 14 goals last season – including a hat-trick against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The attacker has scored 10 goals and assisted 4 in 21 Premier League appearances this term. His tally for Wolves reached 25 goals and 12 assists.

Ben Jacobs shared an update on Kunha’s situation. The reporter said Arsenal were in contact with the player’s agents over a possible move.

He posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Matthews Cunha has not signed his new Wolves contract despite verbally agreeing new financial terms. The teams are still negotiating a release clause, and potentially the Wolves are up and/or down based on two different numbers.

“Cunha has been offered a significant pay rise, and even with a new long-term deal, Wolves will understand the desire to leave Cunha for the right opportunity in a future window.

“Arsenal are currently in contact with Kunhar’s camp, but only informally at this stage. Wolves still don’t want to sell in January and that position will only change with a crazy offer, possibly in excess of £80m.

“Wolves are planning for the second half of the season with Cunha, but Arsenal will be alert for opportunities.”
