Paul Nicholson was often one of the more controversial stars of PDC’s “The Asset” tour, which upset many headliners in the 2010s.
The star often annoyed opponents with his on-stage antics, punching above expectation during the PDC tour.
The winner of the 2010 Players Championship Finals began a feud with Phil Taylor after saying goodbye to The Power when he defeated him at the 2011 UK Open.
Nicholson also sat down, imitating WWE Superstar CM Punk, during Taylor’s entrance in an attempt to anger The Power.
However, at the 2012 World Championships, Nicholson lost his temper and the cameraman paid the price for the wrath of the World Darts Championship quarter-finalists.

Paul Nicholson fired darts at the cameraman after Adrian Lewis’ defeat
In 2012, Simon Whitlock and Nicholson found themselves in the World Cup final against their old nemesis Taylor and Adrian Lewis.
In one of the hottest finals in the history of the competition, the match ended in sudden death for England, with Taylor and Lewis lifting the trophy for their country.
Nicholson was not pleased with the result and showed his disgust by firing darts in anger. Speaking to The Darts Show, The Asset revealed: “Adrian (Lewis) was constantly jumping on me throughout the tournament, even when we weren’t playing together.
Before we played singles together, he was basically attacking me backstage and I thought there was only one way to shut you up and that was to beat you.
“With darts in hand, I threw them onto the stage in anger that we had lost the final. One of them ricocheted and hit the cameraman.
Nicholson, born in Newcastle, qualified to play for Australia due to his dual citizenship.
What did Phil Taylor think of Paul Nicholson?
The Taylor-Nicholson feud in the early 2010s was one of the most fascinating dramas in PDC history, as The Asset often tried to discourage the pitching legend from his game.
Taylor rarely reacted on stage, but in an interview with BBC.
The Power said: “I think he’s very, very stupid. I don’t dislike him as a person, I think he’s alright, but he’s trying to make a name for himself by using his mouth.
Taylor had a 92% success rate against Nicholson and had 23 wins in the 25 games they played together. Nicholson’s most notable victory was a 10-9 victory in the Players Championship finals.
