On January 26, Prosecutors quoted adequate evidence to move forward with legal action, quoting adequate evidence, and the Secretary General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Vernon Mosengo-Omba, quoted their investigation.
An investigation was launched in February 2021 on charges of paying suspicious payment associated with Swiss bank accounts.
The allegations were that the Moseno-Omba-once-member FIFA member of the FIFA members received a bonus by excluding contractual restrictions by Infantino’s close associate-CAF and raised concerns about cash lifting, which prevents transparency and exploration on the complaint.
Moseno-Omba, appointed by the CAF general secretary in 2021, continued his innocence, described the transaction as “valid” and made it clear that they had formed the “Receipt and Bonus” transparently accepted as part of the employment.
The CAF welcomed Swiss prosecutors’ decisions, led by Patrice Motisip to highlight the promise of morality, transparency and administration.
“The CAF Swiss welcomed the Public Prosecutor’s decision and was happy that the CAF and the CAF Secretariat continued to adhere to the ethics, transparency and culture and commitment to the administration, which was introduced from the post of President of DR Patrice Motris.”
Mosenego-Omba, however, is not yet out of the forest because he is still awaiting the internal investigation of the allegations of abuse.
The CAF announced in August that the violation of its internal administration and monitoring rules would be investigated by an external body.
