Josh Rock thinks he is a man who challenged Luke Littler’s domination in darts.
Littler won his first Darts World Championships at the age of 17 this month and was informed to threaten the record of 16 Phil Taylor titles.
The 23-year-old Rock was once tilted as “Next Big Thing” darts from Littler’s outbreaks on the stage, winning the Darts Youth World Championships in 2022, where he published a record average of 104.13 in the final.
Success in the years, since as a professional was more difficult, although a solid season 2024 caused him to climb the 16 best in the world, and Rock thinks he is ready for a great time.
“I had a solid 2024, but to be honest, I think 2025 will be my year,” said the North Irishman in front of the world Masters this week in Milton Keynes.
“It’s fantastic for this sport; Luke wins worlds at such a young age shows that this is a sport of a young man.
“My game is able to challenge, it has always been like that, it just has to go out when you need to.
“There are six years between me and Luke. We can have a very long career. I believe that I and he will dominate this sport, 100 percent. “
Rock will face Jermaine Wattimen in the World Masters restructuring round – Littler of the Tournament enters for the first time.
Littler, who has not won any of the first two tournaments since the triumph in Alexander Palace – Bahrain Masters and The Darts Masters – is heading in his opening match by Andy Baen in Belgium.
World No. 1 Luke Humphries is drawn against Joe Cullen, while the former world champion Michael Smith begins against Danny Noppert.
