Rory Mcilroy and Shane Lowry are one shot behind the leader of SEPP Straka, entering the Sunday round of Pebble Beach Pro-AM in California.
The couple who were colleagues from the team in Ireland at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, both reached seven rounds of 65 people to reach 15 years.
“Let’s hope that one of us operates,” said Lowry from Offals in the Republic of Ireland.
37-year-old and Northern Ireland Mcilroy, 35 years old, looked like leaders going until the last day.
But Austria Strak, who led the tournament after two rounds, bird his last two holes to feed 70 and walk.
Justin Rose from England is two shots in 14 years, next to Tom Kim and Cam Davis, after round 68.
