Gerri Colombe ruled out for the season after suffering setback, trainer Gordon Elliott reveals | Racing News

Gordon Eliot has been forced to rule his star from the rest of the season to Jerry Jerry Colombb.

The winner of the last year’s Chelteneham Gold Cup and Antrie Bowl was not seen since the disappointment to re-appear in the Down Royal in November, when he won the Ladbrocks Champion-A-Back-to-back win just third place behind Nvoi Allen Run.

Since then he has missed several potential busyness, Eliot said he was not happy 100 percent with the age of nine but he hoped he would return to the concert pitch for the main festival of spring.

However, after a push of Robkur’s owned jailing, those hopes have been broken, which means he will not return until autumn.

In a statement posted on his website, Eliot said: “Unfortunately, Geary met with a push in Columba, which means he would not run this season anymore.

“It’s not the end of the career or is not especially serious but it has come to the wrong time of the season so we have to get it out of the spring festival.

“This is a big push for us and Robkur team but we will concentrate on getting him right next season when it is hoped that all the roads will go back to the gold cup.”
