Hidki Matsuyama repeated himself as a master during WM Phoenix Open 2017. The winner of 2016 needed additional holes again to get rid of the claimant (this time Webb Simpson). He won the victory with Ptaszyna in the fourth Hole Play -Ff in 18. TPC Scottsdale. Matsuyama fired the last round 66 to force the play-off. Thanks to this victory, he became the first player since 1975 who won the titles at the Arizona party.
