Looking for a sponsor release this week, WM Phoenix Open, Frankie Capan III wrote a customary letter to tournament officials. When Capana’s letter hit his inbox, Chance Cozby, Executive Director of Thunderbirds, who led the annual PGA Tour stop at TPC Scottsdale, sent E -Mail to Phoenix to inform him how he was impressed.
Nobody, Cozby told Capan, never sent a four -page letter.
“It was a bit cool to me,” said Capan, who was among the selected sponsors. “But I didn’t try to add unnecessary information. I just wanted them to find out a bit about me and my past. “
Capan was born in Minnesota, but spent a large part of his childhood about 15 minutes on the road from Scottsdale, where his parents, Frank Jr. And Charlynn, they still live. He practiced mainly at the Country Club in DC Ranch and attended high school in nearby Northwest Christian School, limiting the preparatory career, shooting 59 and winning an individual state title at Omni Tucson National. When Capan was in elementary school, he served as a standard Phoenix carrier for Phil Mickelson, Bubby Watson and Bill Haas.
Earlier he and his two sisters, Elle and Eric, participated in the younger version of The People’s Open, The Itty Bitty Open, where the best finalists were later celebrated at TPC Scottsdale during a large tournament.
“I just wanted to emphasize it a bit, and then just all the relationships that my family and I created in the valley,” added Capan. “Besides, mainly updating him a bit about how the last few years went for me and just gave him some insight into my golf career so far.”
Capan, who divided the career of the university between Alabama, and then Florida Gulf Coast, played last year during the Korn Ferry Tour, publishing seven first tens, including victory, along with shooting 58 at Veritex Bank Championship. “I have a lot of confidence in my game and what I can do with a golf ball to a place where I think we are all artists at the end of the day,” said Capan. “This weekend may be a little different. It is probably not 500,000, 700,000 people. But in the case of most golf tournaments it is really; It’s entertainment.

Sleeping in bed from childhood and some home meals will certainly not hurt either.
