After months of games and speculation, the 12 teams that will participate in this year’s College Football Playoff have finally been announced. No. 1 OregonNo. 2 GeorgiaNo. 3 Boise State and No. 4 Arizona State each won their respective conference championship games over the weekend to earn a first-round bye and a spot in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, eight other teams will face off in the first round of the playoffs on December 20 and 21.
The playoffs begin with an intra-state battle between No. 7 Our Lady (-8.5, 52.5) and No. 10 Indiana in South Bend (Dec. 20, 8 p.m. ET on ABC/ESPN). Then on Saturday no. 11. SMU heads to Beaver Stadium to face No. 6 Penn State (-8.5, 52.5) (12:00 ET on TNT/Max) with number 12 Clemson face to face with number 5 Texas in Austin on Saturday afternoon (4 p.m. ET on TNT/Max). The first round ends with number 7 Tennessee travels to Columbus to face No. 8 Ohio State (-7, 47.5) (8 p.m. ET on ESPN/ABC).
