On Wednesday, the SEC announced its 2025 football schedule, which will be highlighted during the third game between Georgia AND Texas in less than a year.
Texas will travel to Georgia next season on November 15. The Bulldogs have won both games this season, winning 22-19 in overtime in the SEC Championship Game last Saturday and 30-15 in Austin on October 19. Next season’s match will be the first meeting between both teams in this year’s College Football Playoff in Athens.
Some competitive match dates have been postponed and/or pushed back in the schedule. Georgia i Tennessee will play on September 13 in Knoxville. It was the first time the two teams had met since 1995. Florida and Tennessee will face off in the penultimate week of the season in Gainesville on November 22. This will be the first November meeting of both teams since 1955.
Alabama and Georgia will play on September 27 in Athens. The last time they met in Athens was in 2015, when current Georgia coach Kirby Smart was in his final season as Nick Saban’s defensive coordinator at Alabama.
Georgia’s schedule this season has been one of the toughest in the country, but the situation will change in 2025. The Bulldogs will face Alabama (September 27), Olu Lady (October 18) and Texas (November 15) all at home. Additionally, after opening the 2024 season in Atlanta against ClemsonGeorgia will begin the 2025 season at home against the team Marshall.
Alabama is staying out of state for its final five games. After the Nov. 1 open date, Alabama faces LSU, Oklahoma AND State of Georgia everyone at home before the season closes at Chestnut.
Missouri will play eight home games in 2025, its first at Faurot Field, and will play no road games until the Tigers visit Auburn on Oct. 18.
Oklahoma is having one of the toughest second halves of the 2025 season, with the Sooners playing four SEC games in four weeks straight, with only one at home. This stretch begins with the annual rivalry with Texas in Dallas on October 11, followed by a trip to Georgia on October 18, a home game against Ole Miss on October 25 and an away date with Tennessee on November 1. After the bye week, Oklahoma will face Alabama, Missouri and LSU at the end of the season.
Arkansas will play away games against LSU on November 15 and Texas on November 22 and a Hogs game against Texas A&M Next season will be Oct. 18 at home in Fayetteville, rather than in Arlington, Texas, where 10 of the last 11 meetings between the schools have been played. South Carolina, which finished the regular season with six straight wins, will play two big home games next season – Oct. 18 at Oklahoma and Oct. 25 at Alabama.
Among the most important non-conference games involving SEC teams: LSU at Clemson (August 30), Texas at Ohio State (August 30), Tennessee vs. Syracuse in Atlanta (August 30), Michigan at Oklahoma (September 6), Texas A&M at Our Lady (September 13) and Florida at Miami (September 20).
