WPL 2025: Gujarat Giants appoints Pravin Tambe as bowling coach

Gujarat Giants have appointed Pravin Tambe as their bowling coach ahead of the 2025 Women’s Premier League season.

The team also announced the appointment of Daniel Marsh as its new batting coach, and Michael Klinger, who joined the team last season, will continue as head coach.

Tambe came into the limelight when he made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut for Rajasthan Royals at the age of 41. He also brings extensive coaching experience. He has previously worked with IPL teams such as Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants.

Marsh was the head coach of the Tasmania men’s team from 2013 to 2017 and was appointed assistant coach of the Australian women’s team in 2022.

Klinger previously served as head coach of the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League and the Sydney Thunder in the Women’s Big Bash League. Earlier this year he was announced as head coach of the Manchester Originals women’s team at The Hundred.

“We laid a solid foundation last season and I’m excited to continue to grow with the talented players we have retained in the squad. We remain focused on fostering a winning mindset and pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve as a team. It is extremely satisfying to see so many Gujarat Giants players representing India since the last WPL season. This invaluable high-level experience will undoubtedly strengthen our squad for the upcoming season,” said Klinger.

The Giants finished last among five teams in the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

The player auction for the 2025 season will be held on December 15 in Bengaluru.
