Manchester City have been linked with a move for the Euro 2024 winner since October due to the player’s EUR 60 million release clause on his current contract, but the 25-year-old is understood to have doubts about a move to the Etihad.
Martin Zubimendi doubts move to Manchester City
It is reported telegraph Manchester City is about to rebuild and Guardiola is interested in Zubimendi.
The Spanish midfielder is said to have reservations about the prospect of a back-up role upon Rodri’s return and may have to wait until the summer rather than the January window to confirm his future.
This would be a huge boost for Liverpool Reds make Zubimendi their top transfer target this summer But ultimately failed to land a La Liga star.
Arne Slot was lightly used in the No. 6 position, with Ryan Gravenberch playing the majority of the game under the new Liverpool boss. The Dutch talent has started every Premier League and Champions League game for the Merseyside club so far, which will have an impact later in the season.
Zubimendi would be an important addition to Liverpool’s current squad and it would be beneficial for the Premier League leaders if he decides to wait until the summer to decide on his future.
