Despite four goals in the match, SC Bengaluru and Delhi FC had to settle for a draw as Dempo SC scored the first goal to defeat Sreenidi Deccan.
Here’s what happened in I-League 2024-25 on December 13:
Shimray and Binong take points while SC Bengaluru and Delhi FC decide to take a point
Sporting Club Bengaluru came back from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Delhi FC at the Bengaluru Football Stadium.
Stephane Samir Binong scored twice for Delhi FC in the 34th and 52nd minutes, but SC Bengaluru’s Thomyo Shimray equaled the Cameroon striker’s feat with two goals of his own in the 53rd and 75th minutes.
Delhi FC’s Tondomba Singh Naorem was sent off after receiving a second yellow card in the dying moments of the match.
The draw meant Delhi FC remained ninth in the table with five points from five matches. Newbie SC Bengaluru is in 11th position with four points from five matches.
Demopo takes all points from Sreenidi’s hosts
Argentine midfielder Cristian Damian Perez Roa scored from the spot in the eighth minute to lead Dempo Sports Club to a 1-0 victory over hosts Sreenidi Deccan FC at the Deccan Arena.
The most important goal came after a rather unnecessary foul in the penalty area by Sreenidi goalkeeper Ubaid CK, and Cristian Perez Roa took the opportunity to put the net away from the penalty spot.
Demopo, which has played all five away matches so far, currently has 10 points and is provisionally at the top of the table. However, the equation may change in the next few days when Inter Kashi, Real Kashmir FC and Churchill Brothers FC Goa will play their Round Five matches.
Sreenidi, on the other hand, has six points after playing all five home matches. The defeat against Demopo was the third and second in a row at the Deccan Arena.
