If anyone knows the mind of Deion Sanders, that may be the case Travis Hunter.
And two-way Colorado The Star says Coach Prime indeed remains with the Buffaloes.
“I have a lot of insight,” Hunter said Friday in Manhattan, where he works the clear favorite to win the Heisman Trophy on Saturday night. “He’s not going anywhere. It will be exactly where it is now.”
During his second season at the school, Sanders coached No. 20 Colorado, which posted a 9-3 record this year and claimed a bowl game for the first time since 2020. Hunter, Sanders and The Buffaloes will face No. 17 BYU (10-2) in the Alamo Bowl on December 28.
Sanders’ success and popularity in Boulder has led to speculation about the flashy and outspoken former NFL the star may seek or accept a coaching job elsewhere in the offseason. However, Sanders himself rejected such claims.
Hunter followed Sanders Jackson’s conditionan HBCU team playing in the FCS minor league to the Rockies, which has already earned a staggering number of individual accolades this week, including Associated Press Player of the Year.

The junior wide receiver and cornerback is scheduled to enter the 2025 NFL Draft and is expected to be a top-five pick and maybe even a top-overall pick. However, he supported the claims of Sanders and his son, the star quarterback from Colorado Shedeur Sandersthat both would play in the Alamo Bowl rather than skip the game to prepare for the draft and prevent possible injuries.
“It’s definitely important because, you know, I started this thing with Coach Prime, Shedeur and most of the coaches on the coaching staff, so I want to finish it off strong,” Hunter said. “I didn’t give them a full season my first year (due to injury), so I’ll make my decision and end it right. This will be our last match together, so go out there, dominate and show your loyalty to him.
“I’m definitely looking forward to it. I’m just excited to get out there and play football one more time before the offseason.”
